Call for Submissions: The 3rd ISGS Go Promotion Awards 2025

We are pleased to announce the 3rd ISGS Go Promotion Awards.

This initiative encourages individuals and teams from around the world to share their knowledge, experience, and effective methods for teaching and promoting the game of Go to a wider audience, including those unfamiliar with the game. The contest welcomes both documentation of current Go promotion efforts and promotional videos aimed at newcomers, providing a way to highlight Go’s appeal to a broader audience.

Following the success of the second edition in 2024, this year's awards will continue to encourage creative video submissions that feature Go promotion projects or methods. These submissions will be presented at the conference and shared on YouTube for greater reach.

Eligibility: Open to individuals and teams. Projects that have previously won at the Iwamoto Awards (2001-2018) or the ISGS Go Promotion Awards (2023-2024) are not eligible. However, past applicants and winners may participate with a different project and a new video submission.

Submission Guidelines:

Video Format: Promotion projects or methods must be presented in a video, either in English or with English subtitles. Videos should not exceed 8 minutes in length. For the best viewing quality, a resolution of 1080p is recommended.

The contest accepts two types of submissions:

• Sharing a past, current, or planned Go promotion project.

• Promotional videos designed to attract new players.

Application Form: Submit your application in a PDF format along with your video file (MP4 or any other format supported by YouTube) to isgsgopromotionawards@gmail.com.

Submission Limit: Each participant may submit up to two entries.

Content Notice: Videos should not contain copyrighted materials such as images or music to ensure compliance with YouTube’s content policies.

Judging Criteria (100 points total):

• Originality (30 points): Unique and effective approach to promoting Go.

• Effectiveness (40 points): Ability to reach and engage the target audience.

• Presentation (30 points): Clarity and quality of the video.

Prizes:

• 1st Place: 500,000 KRW

• 2nd Place: 300,000 KRW

• 3rd Place: 200,000 KRW

Winners will also receive a certificate of recognition.

Key Dates:

Submission Deadline: June 1, 2025 (KST)

Winner Announcement: At the 3rd ISGS International Go Conference on July 23, 2025, during the European Go Congress (EGC) in Warsaw, Poland, with a prize ceremony to honor the awardees.

Additional Information:
• There is no participation fee.

• The judging panel will include 5-10 members from different countries.

• The organizer may publish the entries on their website and share them on YouTube, with copyright remaining with the creator.
